TTSBuilder is a Text to Speech voice generator system that allows you to build your own text to speech voices. TTS Builder supports many languages: American English, British English, French, Italian, German, and more. Furthermore, TTSBuilder provides a voice artist - for each language supported - that includes a list of nonsense words derived from a combination of diphones. With TTSBuilder you only need to have a sound card and a microphone connected to your computer to create a TTS voice. TTS Builder is based on the open festival speech synthesis system, but also includes a graphical user interface editor that allows you to edit the required diphone boundaries, labels, and pitchmarks. TTSBuilder includes a complete set of tools that are used in each step of process. Those steps can be broadly explained as follows: First of all you need to select your preferred language for the diphones. Next, you have to use a wave recorder for recording your voice – The program already includes a voice recorder but you can use the voice recorder of your choice. Then, you need to assign labels and pitchmarks, compile your voice, edit labels, test your work, to finally repair the words. The process may be a little hard but it is easy when you follow the steps listed in the manual.
